PARADIGMA KONSTRUKTIVISME DALAM PORTOFOLIO SEBAGAI SISTEM PENILAIAN PEMBELAJARAN YANG BERMAKNA

Abstract
The notion of students as a blank slate has been widely abandoned for each student is unique and has his own way of learning. This is in line with the basic concept of constructivism, a paradigm that has been influencing instruction and research worlds in the last two decades, which maintains that human constructs his knowledge by himself through trial and error, participatory, and proactive process. Others, particularly teachers, play the role as facilitators.

In formal education, such spirit of con ructivism and humanism above might be best covered by porzofolio assessment. It provides students with the opportunity to find out their own best learning strategy while constructing their own know!edge. Also, its practical implications offer great chance for the meaningful and insightful learning, not only for the students themselves but also for the teachers and the institution.
